Five Silvers and Two Bronzes for Team Canada at the 2018 Youth Continental Championships

Regrouping 99 boxers from 15 countries, the 2018 AMBC Youth Continental Championships finally came to an end on Saturday evening after five days of competition. With a total of seven medals, Canada placed fourth in the country ranking for the competition after USA (14 medals), Brazil (8 medals) and Argentina (6 medals). Here's the Canadian medallists:

60Kg   Spencer Wilcox (Hamilton, ON)

64Kg   Derek Pomerleau (Mercier, QC)

69 Kg  Charlie Cavanagh (Saint John, NB)

91+Kg  Tethluach Chuol (Edmonton, AB)

 

BRONZE

56 Kg   Avery Martin-Duval (St-Clet, QC)

75 Kg   Mohamed Zawadi (Barrie, ON)

 

"We are very satisfied with the Team's results as it was the first international competition for many of our Canadian boxers," says Daniel Trépanier, High Performance Director. "These results show that there is a lot of potential with our young roster and it augurs well for the future."
