BIOGRAPHY

With not much to do in the small town of St-Clet, Avery decided to sign up to Francis Lafreniere’s boxing gym. He has been enrolled in boxing since 2012 and for the last two years, he has been under the tutelage of coach Jessy Ross Thompson. From a young age, Avery was always a boxing fanatic. He watched boxing bouts profusely and loves to watch boxing movies as well. These two elements led to him being inspired to start boxing. He idolizes Julio Ceaser Chavez and Robert Durant. He enjoys the technical and competitive aspects of combat sports.

Duval’s dream is to make the National Olympic Team either in 2020 or in 2024. Afterward, he will pursue a professional career in boxing. The national champion trains six days a week and takes Sundays off to recuperate his body.
