BIOGRAPHY

At a young age, Matthew played competitive hockey. He had an interest in developing combat skills, so he decided to join a local Muay-Thai club where he trained for two years only as there were no competition offered through thi club. He then decided to join Albion Boxing Club in a nearby town and he immediately fell in love with boxing. He loves the training, traveling and the competition in boxing.

Although boxing training requires a team effort, he enjoys the solitary competition. In Matthew’s mind, his success depends mostly on the work he personally puts in. He is dedicated, as he goes to practice and trains every day. He really enjoys traveling and competing nationally and internationally. Out of everything, he mostly cherishes the intensity and bout preparations in boxing.

For the distant future, he plans on continuing to box and competing on the Canadian national team. His dream is to win a medal at the 2024 Olympics. He is currently a 10th-grade student at Dr. JH Gillis High School.
