Before taking up boxing, Claudia Marisol practiced kickboxing. However, she had an accident in 2011 where she fell from a horse and had an 8-month convalescence period where she had to re-learn how to walk. The doctor told her she would not be able to practice kickboxing or any other combat sport. Claudia still tried to return to kickboxing, but was unable to kick due to back pain. One day she was at the gym, she started paying attention to the boxing class and that’s when she decided to do the transition into her new sport. Her debut were difficult and she suffered discal hernia, but being stubborn, she preserved and she no longer feels any pain now. She is happy to not have listened to her doctor!
Her favorite aspect of boxing is the adrenaline she feels during a bout. She also likes the training and mental aspect of the sport. In the near future, she wishes to participate in the World Championships or another international competition.
Beside boxing, Claudia has completed a Collegial certification in financial management at Collège Delta, a certificate in Business accounting at HEC and an ASP in Business launch at Commission Marguerite Bourgeois.
