Kate Lee started boxing during the summer of 2017 to stay fit and active (14 years old). It was her brother who got her interested in the sweet science as he was going to the boxing club every night. He would work so hard and come back home drenched in sweat, which made Kate want to try it out for herself to figure. out what was so special about the sport and why he loved it so much. She was drawn to the sport very quickly, and before she realized she was training 5 days a week. A few months into boxing, she had her first fight in Rimouski, QC where she won by a second round stoppage. According to Kate, it was an incredible experience, which got her thinking about her next fight before that nigh was even over.
She loves meeting new people of all ages, lifestyles, characters and nationality through boxing. It also gives her the opportunity to travel to places she would have never gone otherwise. Ultimately, Kate’s favorite aspect of boxing if the feeling she gets the moment her hand is raised in the ring.
Beyond her career as an athlete, Kate is currently a student at Kennebecasis Valley High School. In the future, she wishes to still be involved in boxing while studying in a field of science and mathematics.
