Boxing Canada would like to recognize two athlete&coach pairs who are part of 56 recipients of Petro-Canada’s 2023 FACE Grant.

 

Boxer Marie Alahmadieh & Coach Marie-Jeanne Parent, and Boxer Keoma Al-Ahmadieh/Coach & Jordan Mathieu have been awarded $10,000 per pair to contribute towards further competitive success. Petro Canada works with the Canadian Olympic Committee and National Sport Organizations to identify and support deserving athlete/coach pairs who are on the verge of international success.

 

With the support provided by the FACE Program the athlete/coach pairs attended the two-week training camp hosted by the Colombian Boxing Federation before the AMBC Continental Championships in mid-July. Now, both athletes are at another training camp in Bogota, Columbia, ahead of the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

 

Marie Al-Ahmadieh earned a top 8 finish at the 2022 IBA Youth World Championships in Alicante, Spain and will be representing Canada in the 57 kg division at the Pan American Games.

Keoma Al-Ahmadieh earned Canada a bronze medal in the 57kg division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
