Boxing Canada is thrilled to announce that Calgary, Alberta has been awarded the 2027 Panamerican Youth Continental Championships, marking the first time this prestigious international boxing championship will be hosted in Canada.

Taking place March 17–22, 2027, at the Genesis Centre in Calgary, the championship is expected to welcome athletes, coaches, officials and delegates representing up to 35 nations, bringing an exciting week of international Olympic-style boxing to Calgary. The Panamerican Youth Continental Championships are an important part of the international development pathway for the next generation of high-performance boxers. The event will give young athletes the opportunity to compete on an international stage while representing their countries and gaining invaluable experience as they progress toward senior international competition and future Olympic aspirations.

“Hosting the Panamerican Youth Continental Championships in Canada for the first time is an incredible milestone for Boxing Canada and for our sport,” said Christopher Lindsay, Executive Director of Boxing Canada. “Calgary has proven itself to be an outstanding host city for major sporting events, and we are excited to welcome young athletes from across the world to Canada. These are some of the future stars of our sport, and Canadian fans will have an opportunity to experience exceptional Olympic-style boxing right here at home.”

The selection of Calgary also builds on Boxing Canada’s commitment to bringing more international competition opportunities to Canada. Boxing Canada has identified Continental Youth Championships among the international events it is targeting as part of its hosting strategy.

The Panamerican Boxing Confederation, the governing body for amateur and Olympic-style boxing across the Americas, identified the 2027 Panamerican Youth Continental Championships as a key developmental event when it opened the international hosting process earlier this year. Elise Seignolle, President of the Panamerican Boxing Confederation, highlighted the importance of the Championships in supporting the development of the next generation of athletes across the Americas: “Panamerican Youth Continental Championships are an important part of how we continue to develop boxing across our continent. Giving our young athletes the opportunity to compete internationally, gain experience and represent their countries is essential to their development and to the future of our sport. We are very pleased to work with Boxing Canada and look forward to welcoming our National Federations and their athletes to Calgary for a great Championship.”
