Angela Sanford announces retirement from Boxing Canada’s Board of Directors
Boxing Canada is sad to share the news that Angela will be retiring from her role at Vice President/Director-At-Large following an extraordinary period of service and leadership.
Angela has dedicated herself to the organization through three consecutive terms on the Board, providing steady guidance, thoughtful insight, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. During her three-term Board tenure, she played a pivotal role in helping the organization successfully navigate multiple Olympic Games cycles, respond to the challenges of the global pandemic, and lead important efforts in modernization and growth.
Her leadership has not only strengthened the organization operationally but has also helped shape a forward-looking vision that will benefit the community for years to come. Angela’s contributions have left a lasting and meaningful impact, and her legacy will continue to be felt across all aspects of the organization – partially in the areas of barrier-free participation, provincial development, and modernization of the high performance system.
While we will miss her presence and leadership, we are deeply grateful for her service and wish her all the very best in this next chapter. We also look forward to seeing her continue her support of boxing as an official and supporter of the sport in her province of Nova Scotia.
Please join us in thanking Angela for her remarkable contributions and in celebrating her well-deserved retirement.
The Boxing Canada Board will move to appoint an interim Board member followed by an election at the next AGM – currently scheduled for Dec 2026. PTSOs will be informed with more details.
