Cedrick Belony-Duliepre Set to Compete in Paris Olympic Games in 80kg Weight Division

Paris, France – July 30, 2024 – Boxing Canada is thrilled to announce that Cedrick Belony-Duliepre, a member of Boxing Canada, and a member of the Haitian national team, will be competing today in the 80kg weight division at the Paris Olympic Games.

Cedrick, who earned a bronze medal at the Pan Am Games in Santiago, Chile, earlier in 2023, will face off against Wanderley de Souza Pereira, the same opponent who bested him in the Pan Am Games. This bout represents a crucial opportunity for Cedrick to seek redemption and elevate his performance on the global stage.

Under the expert guidance of Canadian coach Laszlo Marien at Fighter’s Pride Boxe at Hugo Gym in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, Cedrick has honed his skills and prepared for this momentous occasion. Coach Marien shared his sentiments on working with Cedric: “It is the ultimate reward for a lifetime of sacrifices for boxing and the pride of helping an athlete reach his full potential, not only as a boxer but also as a human.”

Cedrick, reflecting on his journey, expressed: “Making it to Paris at the Olympic Games is the ultimate goal after 10 years of hard work and dedication to the sport of boxing. It is an honor to represent both my country of origin, Haiti, and my country of adoption, Canada, on such a prestigious platform. I am overwhelmed with pride and joy.”

National Canadian team coach Samir El-Mais will be working as a second coach in Cedrick’s corner with coach Marien.
