Countdown to PanAm Games: Wyatt Sanford

With five days remaining until the start of boxing at the 2023 Pan American Games, Boxing Canada is pleased to continue its countdown by profiling Canadian Boxing Team athlete Wyatt Sanford. Wyatt represents Canada in the male 63.5kg weight division.

Originally from Kennetcook, Nova Scotia, Wyatt now resides in Montreal, Quebec, where he trains full-time at Boxing Canada’s National Training Centre at the Institut National du Sport du Quebec (INS).

One of the veterans of Canada’s National Boxing Team, Wyatt has represented Canada at the 2019 World Champions, the 2019 Pan American Games, the 2020 Olympics and the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he earned a bronze medal for Canada.

Wyatt moved to Montreal in 2017 to join the newly centralized high-performance national program and can often be heard reciting his favourite quote, β€œHard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard.”
