Indigenous Sport is in the news, including Boxing!
The North American Indigenous Games 2023 have just wrapped up in Halifax/Dartmouth. This COVID-delayed edition of the games didn’t feature boxing (but it has in the past – and hopefully will in the future!) but it still serves as inspiration for our athletes. Congratulations to all the First Nation’s athletes who participated in the Games.
One boxer, 15-year-old A’Leah Young of Eskasoni First Nation, was just profiled by CTV! Read more about her involvement with our boxing here.
Boxing has a rich history in Canada. Β The Indigenous peoples of North America have been a big part of our success and Boxing Canada is always looking to serve all our members going forward. Have ideas, want to help? Contact us and lets expand our community through sport!
