Melee Met Gala to Kick Off in Winnipeg: A Night of Boxing and Charity
Winnipeg, MB – September 24, 2024 – The highly anticipated Melee Met Gala is set to bring a night of thrilling boxing action and charitable giving to Winnipeg. The event, which begins on September 26th and runs until September 28th, will be held at Club Regent Casino, combining the excitement of the sport with a mission to give back to the local community. Paris Olympic Bronze Medalist Wyatt Sanford will be in attendance – working to support and promote the charities benefitting from this exciting event.
The Melee Met Gala will feature two main components: United Boxing Corporate Challenge: An electrifying lineup of white-collar boxing matches between corporate participants who have undergone months of rigorous training. This portion of the evening will showcase their skills in the ring while raising money for charity.
International Boxing Competition: Following the Corporate Challenge, an official, sanctioned boxing match will see athletes from the Canadian National Boxing Team face off against their international counterparts from Team USA.

57kg: Marie Al-Ahmadieh, Pound4Pound, Quebec, vs Lisa Greer, Colorado
60kg: Keoma-Ali Al-Ahmadieh, Pound4Pound, Quebec, vs Francis Stewart, Ohio
65kg: Omar Zaatiti, Ring 83, Quebec, vs Dustin Jimenez, New York
Team Canada athletes will be guided by national team coaches Vincent Auclair and Samir El-Mais.
Supporting United Way Winnipeg
In keeping with the Gala’s mission to uplift the community, all proceeds from the United Boxing Corporate Challenge and the night’s event revenues will be donated directly to this year’s charity of choice, United Way Winnipeg. This local organization is dedicated to improving the lives of Winnipeg residents by fostering partnerships, mobilizing resources, and supporting essential social services. Their efforts focus on ensuring that every resident has access to education, income stability, and healthcare services, with a vision of creating a more inclusive and vibrant city for all.
