The process to compete at the Pan American Games 2027 in Lima Peru is significantly different than in previous years.

 

There are two distinct parts to building the Canadian Team:

1. Canada needs to earn start spots in each weight class. There are two opportunities for Canada to earn start spots:
   1. Continental Championships 2026 (October 15-26, Mexico)
   2. Pan American Games Qualifier #2 (Feb 2027, location TBA)
2. Canada needs to nominate athletes to fill each of Canada’s start spots.

 

Boxing Canada will send our list of nominated athletes to the Canadian Olympic Committee who will place those athlete onto the Canadian Pan American Games Team.

 

The normal selection criteria is included in the 2027 National Team Program. But because the Pan Am Games are a major event there is a separate “Official” document explaining the nomination process.
