Ten boxers to compete at the AMBC Pan American Games Qualifiers

With only one day to go before the start of the competition, Team Canada is getting ready to compete at the 2019 AMBC Pan American Games Qualifiers in Managua, Nicaragua. Organized by the American Boxing Confederation (AMBC), the competition is set to take place from April 2-11 and will countries from all North, South and Central Americas. Here are the 10 boxers who will partake in the competition in the hopes to qualify for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games:

  • 56 kg Justin Parina (Mississauga, ON)
  • 69 kg Wyatt Sanford (Montreal, QC)
  • 75 kg Nickenson Denis (Montreal, QC)
  • 81 kg Harley-David O’Reilly (Montreal, QC)
  • 91 kg Bryan Colwell (Victoria, BC)

 

  • 51 kg Sara Haghighat-Joo (Guelph, ON)
  • 57 kg Sabrina Aubin (St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC)
  • 60 kg Irene Fiolek (Montreal, QC)
  • 69 kg Myriam Da Silva (Chambly, QC)
  • 75 kg Tammara Thibeault (Montreal, QC)

 

The Canadian delegation will be accompanied by National Team coach João Carlos Barros as well as coach Jonathan Bochner from Ontario. A total of 80 quotas for the men (8 quotas per weight category – 10 categories) and 40 quotas for women (8 quotas per weight category – 5 categories) are available for the 2019 Pan American Games, set to take place July 27 – August 2nd in Lima, Peru.

 

The remainder of the National Team boxers will take part in the 2019 Super Channel Championships from April 23-27 in the hopes to maintain their respective Canadian champion titles.
