Tom Hennessey Named President of Boxing Canada for 2026
At the first Board of Directors meeting following the 2025 Annual General Meeting Ryan O’Shea, President since 2023, stepped down from his position to focus his energies on representing Canada in his roles as World Boxing Vice President and PanAm Confederation Vice President. Ryan will stay on the board in his role as Director At Large until his term ends in 2028.
The process of determining the President and Vice President roles is a direct vote of the board once per year. This provides some flexibility to the roles, and reinforces the authority of each position on an annual basis.
The Board determined that Tom Hennessey (Director Ontario) would take on the President role, and Angela Sanford (Director At Large) would continue in the Vice President role.
