World Boxing Announces Creation of Pan American Boxing Confederation
Inaugural Pan American Boxing Confederation Congress Scheduled for March 15, in Panama
COLORADO, United States – In conjunction with World Boxing, the World Boxing national federations within the Americas have collaborated to form a new continental Confederation, which will be known as the Pan American Boxing Confederation. The formation of this continental Confederation is a direct result of the progress made by World Boxing and its member national federations over the past two years.
The Interim Board of Directors of Pan American Boxing Confederation is proud to announce the Inaugural Congress of Pan American Boxing Confederation that will be taking place on Saturday, March 15th, in Panama City, Panama.
Currently, there are 17 national federations within the Americas operating under World Boxing and those members will meet at this Congress to approve statutes, elect its Executive Leadership, and establish operating guidelines for the continental Confederation going forward.
This Inaugural Congress for the Pan American Boxing Confederation will also include elections for the Confederation’s Executive Committees. The positions to be elected include seven positions on the board of directors and four committee chair positions (Medical & Anti-Doping, Judicial, Audit & Finance, Sport & Competition).
In preparation for this Congress, Pan American Boxing Confederation’s Interim Board of Directors has worked with a third-party provider to establish an independent vetting panel to review applications received for the organization’s leadership roles.
