BIOGRAPHY

Emelia started taking boxing lessons as a recreational sport. She quickly fell in love with the sport and it didn’t take her long before she started competing. She loves the confidence that boxing instills into you. She enjoys training and pushing herself through different challenges. She doesn’t believe there is a perfect boxer, as there is always a skill to improve or add to your repertoire.
Since she started boxing at a young age, her main goal has been to earn a medal at the Olympic Games. She hopes to earn a spot with the Canadian Olympic team by 2024 and to be ready to compete at the 2028 Olympics.
She is currently in her last year of high school. Her next step in education is going to the University of Ottawa to study Human Kinetics.

BIOGRAPHY

Kate Lee started boxing during the summer of 2017 to stay fit and active (14 years old). It was her brother who got her interested in the sweet science as he was going to the boxing club every night. He would work so hard and come back home drenched in sweat, which made Kate want to try it out for herself to figure. out what was so special about the sport and why he loved it so much. She was drawn to the sport very quickly, and before she realized she was training 5 days a week. A few months into boxing, she had her first fight in Rimouski, QC where she won by a second round stoppage. According to Kate, it was an incredible experience, which got her thinking about her next fight before that nigh was even over.
She loves meeting new people of all ages, lifestyles, characters and nationality through boxing. It also gives her the opportunity to travel to places she would have never gone otherwise. Ultimately, Kate’s favorite aspect of boxing if the feeling she gets the moment her hand is raised in the ring.
Beyond her career as an athlete, Kate is currently a student at Kennebecasis Valley High School. In the future, she wishes to still be involved in boxing while studying in a field of science and mathematics.

BIOGRAPHY

At a young age, Matthew played competitive hockey. He had an interest in developing combat skills, so he decided to join a local Muay-Thai club where he trained for two years only as there were no competition offered through thi club. He then decided to join Albion Boxing Club in a nearby town and he immediately fell in love with boxing. He loves the training, traveling and the competition in boxing.

 

Although boxing training requires a team effort, he enjoys the solitary competition. In Matthew’s mind, his success depends mostly on the work he personally puts in. He is dedicated, as he goes to practice and trains every day. He really enjoys traveling and competing nationally and internationally. Out of everything, he mostly cherishes the intensity and bout preparations in boxing.

 

For the distant future, he plans on continuing to box and competing on the Canadian national team. His dream is to win a medal at the 2024 Olympics. He is currently a 10th-grade student at Dr. JH Gillis High School.

BIOGRAPHY

Mohamed started boxing when he was only 8 years old. His brother, who was boxing at the time, sparked his curiosity. One day, Mohamed went to the boxing club with his brother where he signed up right away and has been boxing ever since. This national champion likes the training and the discipline that is demanded in boxing in order to improve one’s skills. His boxing coach, Jack Ireland, has been very supportive of him both in the gym and in his personal life.

 

In boxing, his biggest dream is to be a World champion one day. He is currently in the 11th grade and will pursue a vocation to become a firefighter.
