Coaches Learning with their Athletes at U19 WCH!
Boxing Canada would like to recognize the efforts and dedication of coaches Tariq Abdulrahmanand (Nelson Boxing) and Micheal Meunier (Crew Boxe). They are self-funding to support their athletes Julian Agelakis (55kg) and Zoe Courchesne (48kg) as part of Boxing Canadaβs High Performance Personal Coach (HPPC) program at the 2024 World Boxing U19 Championships.
The purpose of the HPPC program is to support the development of Boxing Canadaβs coaches and enhance their ability to produce senior continental and world results by creating an environment and system that allow personal coaches to integrate into the national team and work exclusively with their club athletes at international camps and competitions.
To be eligible for selection as an HPPC, coaches must meet all NCCP requirements, be members in good standing with their provincial boxing association (PTSO) and Boxing Canada and complete Boxing Canadaβs Abuse-Free Sport declaration.
With our sights set on the LA28 and Brisbane32 Games and continued Olympic inclusion under World Boxing, it is critical that the coaches developing young Canadian boxers understand firsthand what it takes to win at the world level.
